The response to the multi-lingual and highly pictorial EDU-Self self-teaching concept, through their Domestic Helper, Child Minder and recent Assistant Gardener training series, has been nothing short of spectacular.
It is with this background and success that EDU-Self have been requested to publish a D.I.Y. -Handyman self-teaching series for homeowners and entrepreneurs.
EDU-Self DIY/Home Maintenance will take the form of a 4-part series of training manuals in which every instruction can be followed in English, isiZulu, Sesotho and Afrikaans.
It targets homeowners who simply want to feel more competent in taking on home maintenance tasks in and around their own homes. Also, it is aimed at men who need to up skill themselves in order to increase their self-employment prospects.
The lessons will be divided into the following sections:
EDU-Tool (a thorough understanding of all tools relevant to different applications),
EDU-Task (encompassing a variety of useful handyman/maintenance tasks), and,
EDU-Cash to give a meaningful contribution to the start of a small business and money issues relating to this.
- Issue 1 will be supplied in March
- Issue 2 in June
- Issue 3 in August
- Issue 4 in October
There is a self assessment test, EDU-Test, in each manual.
Learners then have the option of earning a credible EDU-Certificate, if they enroll for a further test based on all 4 manuals, with a HANDYMAN GROUP testing centre in their area, at the end of 2007.
The series is supported by many of your major suppliers such as The HANDYMAN GROUP, BOSCH, SCOTCH 3M, DULUX, FRAGRAM, FNB and SA LEISURE, and of course MICA.
